Now that Elgato somewhat support XMLTV (finally) in EyeTV 3.0.1, in that you can drag&drop an XMLTV file on to EyeTV and then assign it to TV channels, it would be great if EyeTV EPG Proxy could be upgraded so as to take advantage of this.

I am hoping that EyeTV EPG Proxy could do the ‘heavy lifting’ of downloading the XMLTV data (from various providers including in my case the Radio Times in the UK), reformat the data if necessary, and then get EyeTV to import it (which can be done with an AppleScript).

Since EyeTV supports this method of importing XMLTV, there should no longer be a problem for people with Digital only tuners as described in this thread http://beast.danslereseau.com/forums/1/topics/14

I don’t have EyeTV 3, and have no plan to buy it for myself, since I don’t think any of the offered feature is worth the upgrade $ they ask for.

I also have no plans to implement or package an XMLTV client myself, or create an AppleScript to import the XMLTV data in EyeTV (I’d guess you could find that in EyeTV’s own forums…)
